‘Hospitalised’: A pregnant woman in Australia’s second state is hospitalised after being left in a car

Posted January 19, 2018 07:25:28A pregnant woman was left in the car by a taxi driver in Queensland after he said he could not get to her.

The woman was reportedly taken to a local hospital, where she was treated for a concussion.

She was reported to be in a stable condition.

Police have released no further information.

The ABC understands the woman was a passenger in a white Toyota Camry that was parked outside a taxi company in the small town of Maroubra, about 150 kilometres (93 miles) south of Brisbane.

She left the car and went to a nearby store where she bought some food.

When she returned, she discovered the car was not in the parking lot.

“I was in the wrong car and the car had not been registered,” she said.

“The driver said ‘sorry’ but he couldn’t get to me.

He just left me in the dark.”

Police say the woman has been charged with dangerous driving.
