JANUARY 21, 2020 6:40 pm The long-short trend is back on track.

The S&P 500 has gone up 1.7 per cent in the last 12 months, while the Dow has fallen 3.2 per cent.

On Tuesday, the S&amps’ index was up 5.5 per cent on a day when the Dow fell 4.4 per cent and the Nasdaq slipped 0.6 per cent to 1,829.24.

Traders were quick to point out that investors will not be rewarded by the market’s long-standing rise.

But for those of us who have seen the market go down, this may have been the right time to make a few calls.

There are more stocks than you need to trade in a given day, so if you have some cash to spare, take advantage of these bargains.

Buy a cheap tech stock that has been bouncing around, and make a profit on it, because there’s no way you’ll be able to profit from the market going up.

As long as the S &Ps price-to-earnings ratio stays below 5 per cent, stocks will continue to rally.
